• History: The Civil Air Transportation Management program was established in 2018 to train intermediate personnel for the aviation sector. The program provides associate degree education to meet the need for qualified personnel to work in airline companies and airports. The program, which produced its first graduates in 2018, regularly produces approximately 35 graduates each year.
• Department Program Outcomes:

The Civil Air Transportation Management program provides its graduates with a strong foundation of knowledge in aviation management and business. Students who graduate from the program graduate with the competencies to take on various positions in airline and airport management. They also have the opportunity to further develop their careers by transferring to four-year undergraduate programs through the vertical transfer exam. Graduates find opportunities to work in airline companies, airports and related public and private institutions.

• Education Language / Type: The language of education of the program is Turkish. Students receive basic aviation management courses as well as business and professional practice training in Turkish.
• Infrastructure Opportunities: The Civil Air Transportation Management program is equipped with professional practice training that allows students to combine their theoretical knowledge with practical applications. Students have access to internship and practice opportunities to gain sectoral experience during the program. The program, which provides knowledge and skills specific to the aviation sector, aims to train its graduates in accordance with sectoral requirements.

Purpose / Objectives of the Department / Program: The main purpose of the Civil Air Transportation Management program is to train qualified intermediate staff to work in the airline and airport sectors. The program provides students with knowledge and skills specific to the aviation sector, while also providing a broad perspective by providing training in the field of business management. The goal is to provide graduates with both theoretical knowledge and practical experience, and to meet the needs of the sector.

Current Status and Future of the Department/Program: Currently, students gain work experience before graduation through professional practice training and internships and establish strong connections with the industry. In the future, considering the growth and developments in the aviation sector, it is expected that job opportunities for graduates of the program will increase. In addition, with the expansion of undergraduate completion opportunities, students have the potential to further their careers.

Program graduates have the opportunity to find employment in various positions in airline companies, airport operators, ground handling companies and aviation-related public institutions. Among the main professions that graduates can do are:

• Airport operations officer
• Ground services manager
• Customer service personnel in airline companies
• Cargo operations specialist
• There is an aviation security expert.

Employment Opportunities: Graduates have wide employment opportunities in the rapidly growing aviation sector. They can work in various positions in major players of the sector, especially airport operators, airlines and ground handling companies.
